Shipping Bottled Wine

Due to the challenging conditions encountered during long-distance transportation, it is advised to:

  • Always transport bottles in a vertical position.
  • Use thermally insulated containers and prefer cooler seasons for shipping, especially for intercontinental journeys.
  • Ensure maritime containers are clean, odor-free, and dry. If necessary, clean them with a metabisulfite solution and dry thoroughly. This is crucial to prevent humidity-induced fungal growth, which can lead to the formation of chloroanisoles or other undesirable compounds.
